The Challenge:
Traditional rollout of Oliver McGowan training could take up to five years to complete in our region.
Our Approach:</h2
- Recognising the need for this important training, Coventry & Warwickshire Training Hub’s Medical Education Team worked with third-sector expert partners to design and deliver a Learning Disability and Autism training programme that could be delivered within six months.
- By designing and delivering the training in a hybrid format, we maximised accessibility for colleagues across Coventry and Warwickshire. The training was funded by CW ICB.
Outcomes:
- By adopting this tailored programme, we have educated over 3000 colleagues to a CQC standard.
- Feedback has been very positive.
- In response to the Learning Disability training:
- 85% said they learned something.
- 66% said practice will change as a result.
- 98% found the session relevant to their work.
- In response to the Autism training:
- 82% said they learned something.
- 60% said practice will change as a result
