The winners of the 2025 Gill Schweigert Innovation Awards were revealed last week at a ceremony celebrating the nursing care across the Coventry & Warwickshire region.
Hosted by the Coventry & Warwickshire Training Hub, the Gill Schweigert Awards bring together nursing teams from across the region to recognise innovative work and invest in future primary care nursing projects. This year’s winners are:
Winner
- Sue Thomas (Action Menopause) – An ANP-Led Community Support Model
Runners Up
- Jordine Crooks – North Arden PCN – Living Well for Longer – A Four-Armed Proactive Care Approach to Providing Personalised Care to our Patients
- Laura Kerby – Alliance Teaching Practice – Future-Proofing Primary Care – A Development Programme for Nurses New to General Practice
Highly Commended
- Leah Kirkwood and Florence Jack-Petter – Improving Hypertension Management in People Experiencing Homelessness
- Bidford Health Centre – Nursing Team Development
Coventry & Warwickshire IPC proudly sponsored the awards scheme which put the spotlight on the leadership and impact of nursing teams in driving change across the region. This year’s shortlisted projects showcased a wide range of innovative approaches, from new patient pathways to workforce development and quality improvement in the delivery of care.
